Kathryn Hunt made her poetry performance debut at 14, when she featured in the CBC Atlantic Airwaves radio-play production of her children's book Darktalk. She has been published in two anthologies (The Old Enchanter and Soundings) and a number of journals, and is the recipient of the Lillian I Found and George Johnston Prizes for poetry, as well as a repeated runner-up for the John Newlove Award, and second place winner of the New Brunswick Writers Federation Award for children's literature.

She is originally from New Brunswick, and has been performing around Ottawa since moving here in 1995, at the Dusty Owl Reading Series, the Tree Reading Series, In/Words, and other open mikes. She has been a featured reader at several Bywords Quarterly Journal launches, at the Soundings launch, with the Kymeras at the New Stalgica reading series, and in a solo show at Voices of Venus, where she presented her "Chasing Boudicca" cycle of poems, which was then developed into a full-length show with fellow Kymeras Ruthanne Edward and Marie Bilodeau, and premiered at the Ottawa Storytellers' NAC Fourth Stage Series in early 2011.

She is a freelance editor and writer and social media gun-for-hire, co-hosts Literary Landscape on CKCU FM (93.1), and blogs at freerangeprint and The Incidental Cyclist.
