Ruthanne Edward has been a professional storyteller since 2000. She performs for adult and child audiences throughout Eastern Ontario and West Quebec and has appeared at the Fringe Festival, Winterlude, Ottawa Storytelling Festival, the National Arts Centre, Voices of Venus spoken word series, The Spoken Word Plot, Gloucester Spoken Art series, on CBC radio, at museums, schools, libraries, and many a campfire.

She is also active on the national slam poetry scene as a volunteer and event organizer and was a volunteer coordinator for the 2010 Canadian Festival of Spoken Word. Ruthanne has a particular interest in bringing the worlds of storytelling and spoken word closer together through collaboration with spoken word artists and poets. She is bringing slam to storytellers as the creator and coordinator of Ottawa's first monthly storytelling slam, Once Upon a Slam.
